Volunteer Services

Are you finding that you have some extra time on your hands? Looking to share a talent? Look no further, Talahi Senior Campus has many volunteer opportunities to keep you busy and share those hidden talents.

We will work with individual volunteers, small groups, business, schools and students who need to complete service learning projects. We are able to custom design programs that fulfill the needs of our campus as well as give volunteers a positive rewarding experience.

  • Friendly Visitor - Visiting tenants in Nature’s Point Assisted Living and the care center.
  • Music Program Leader – Playing a musical instrument and leading a sing-along
  • Entertainer - Sharing musical talents and enjoy performing for people
  • Plant Attendant – Watering and maintaining indoor plants throughout the campus
  • Gardener – Planting, maintaining flower beds, small vegetable gardens
  • Men’s Group Leader – Plan and lead activities or discussions geared towards men’s interest
  • Card Player – Playing games such as 500, cribbage, uno, bridge etc…

How to become a Talahi Volunteer

The process to become a volunteer is simple. Just contact the Volunteer Coordinator and make an appointment to complete the required paperwork. To save some time, you can also download the Volunteer Application and drop them off in person, or by using the fax number, 320-251-4336.

INTERNSHIPS & FIELD EXPERIENCE

The Talahi Senior Campus provides the opportunity for non-paid internships for students needing to complete an internship requirement. Internships are available for the following degreed/certification programs (interview required):

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
  • Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)
  • Licensed Social Worker (LSW)
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Registered Nurse (RN)

The Talahi Senior Campus also provides opportunities for students needing practical field experience through volunteer service learning hours in the following areas:

  • Assistant Volunteer Coordinator
  • Assisted Living Administration
  • Finance and Accounting
  • Health Records Administration
  • Home Health Administration
  • Human Resources and Staffing
  • Spiritual Care Ministry
